Our lesson was about Normal and Inverted Word Order. The sentence is in normal / natural order when the verb follows the subject. The subject is the main person or object in a sentence and verb is the action word. In that sentence, 'I' is the subject and 'hope' is the verb or the action. The sentence is in inverted order when the main verb, a helping verb or a prepositional phrase comes before the subject. Most questions are in inverted order. So are sentences that begin with here is, here are, there is, or there are. Writers sometimes use inverted order to create an effect or to change the emphasis in a sentence.
What did we do?
We do spelling and the words that we spell are Cappuccino, Machinist, Alley, Chrysanthemum, Lasagna, Kaleidoscope, Belvedere, Phonics, Fission, Cleavage. Also we discuss one type of figure of speech and that is Hyperbole. And we know who's the author of 'The Book of lost Tales' his name is John Ronald Reuel Tolkien.
The activities are easy and you can do it right away. I learned that in Normal Word Order that subject before the verb and in the Inverted Word Order that verb before subject. Sometimes, In order to convey the intended message, you may need to use inverted word order. In Normal Word Order we cannot change the word order. There's none I find it difficult, the highlight of the discussion is to know what are the difference between Normal and Inverted Word Order.
